Music

The First Presbyterian Church Choir is dedicated to the preparation and performance of appropriate Christian choral music to enhance and enrich the services of worship scheduled throughout the liturgical year. All are welcome and encouraged to participate. Join us for rehearsals at 4:30 PM on Wednesdays and 10:00 AM on Sundays. Contact the Director, Kenneth T. Kelley or any Choir Member for more information.

Women’s Circles

The Women’s Circles meet for study, fellowship and the sponsorship of various projects generally on the first Monday of the month from September through May at 10:30 AM, 4:00 PM (both at the church), and 11:30 AM and 7:00 PM in one of the member’s homes. The Wildflowers Gathering is generally held on the first Wednesday evening of the month in one of the member’s homes.

Men’s Group

The Men’s Group, God’s Warriors, meets for Bible study and fellowship the second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM, September through May.

Youth

The Youth Group for Grades 8-12 meets each Sunday at 6:00 PM at the church for study and fellowship. A trip is taken to the national Presbyterian Youth Conference in Montreat, North Carolina the first week of June each year, for young people Grades 8-12.

Children

The Wild Wonderful Wednesdays program is offered for grades kindergarten through 5th Grade on Wednesday afternoons August through May, between 3:00 and 5:00 PM at the church.

Food Pantry

One of the main ways we reach out in service to our local community is through our Food Pantry. This pantry is supported by the whole congregation through gifts of food and money throughout the year. Volunteers are always needed to “staff” the pantry on Wednesday mornings, to “bag” on Tuesdays, as well as to “shop” or to help with deliveries for the pantry at other times during the week.

Service and Outreach

In addition to the opportunities for service provided through the Women’s Circles, Men’s Group, and the Food Pantry, our Mission and Service Committee invites people to participate in ongoing and special projects throughout the year.

The church provides opportunities to share in the ongoing work of local community organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army, and the Jackson County Christmas Fund. The church also offers the use of our buildings for meetings of groups such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Autism Support, Alzheimer Caregivers Support, and NA Support.

For more information about our service and outreach, please contact the church office at (850) 526-2430 or fpcmarianna@gmail.com.
